What You'll Need
- Laundry detergent
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Baking soda
- Paper towels
- Absorbent cloth towels
Instructions
- Remove excess liquid and blot the stain with paper towels or an absorbent cloth towel. Do not rub the fabric together as this could cause stain to spread.
- Mix one teaspoon of laundry detergent with two cups of warm water and mix until the detergent is completely dissolved.
- Dip a clean cloth in detergent solution and dab the area until the stain starts to lift away.
- If the stain does not come out, mix together a tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and one teaspoon of baking soda until it forms a paste.
- Spread the paste over the affected area and let it sit for up to 15 minutes.
- Rinse the fabric with cold water to remove paste and then wash it in the washer using a gentle detergent cycle.
Tips
- Always perform a spot test before treating a stain. To do this, place a small amount of the cleaning product in an inconspicuous area of the fabric and wait until it dries to see if it causes any discoloration.
- If the stain persists, repeat steps 1-5 as needed.
- Air drying is recommended to preserve the fabric and color of the broomstick lace.
