berry Dessert wines such as late harvest riesling and port wine are delicious, dark drinks that can be hard to resist. But what do you do if you nick your blazer with a drop of this sweet drink? Don't panic - it can still be saved! Here are some tips to help you get dessert wine stains out of your blazer.

Step 1: Act Quickly

As soon as you have spilled wine, remove the blazer and blot the stain with a cloth or paper towel (a white one, if possible). Do not rub the stain, as this can just further spread the stain.

Step 2: Soak the Stain

In order to remove as much of the stain as possible, you will need to soak blazer for at least 15 minutes. Fill a sink or tub with lukewarm water and add a few drops of dish soap. Place the blazer in the water and agitate gently until all of the soap is mixed in. Then, let it soak for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Scrub and Rinse

After soaking, gently scrub the stained area with an old toothbrush or soft bristled brush. Make sure to be gentle and not scrub too aggressively, otherwise you risk damaging the fabric. When finished, rinse the blazer with cold water until all of the soap is gone.

Step 4: Treat Stain

If the stain is still visible after rinsing, mix a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water. Rub this solution onto the stain and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. Then, rinse blazer again with cold water.

Step 5: Wash in the Machine

Using the gentlest cycle setting on your washing machine, wash the blazer with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Be sure to use a low spin cycle, as this will help reduce chance of the fabric stretching out. After the cycle is finished, hang the blazer to dry.

Step 6: Air Dry

Once the blazer is out of the washing machine, lay it on a flat surface and air dry. Do not use a dryer, as the heat may set the stain and make it harder to remove.

Step 7: Check for a Stain

Once dry, check the blazer for any remaining stains. If there is still a stain present, you can repeat steps four and five until it is completely removed. With these steps, you can easily remove dessert wine stains from your blazer. Just be sure to act quickly and treat the stain right away in order to get the best results.
