What You Will Need:

  • Laundry detergent
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Toothbrush

Step 1: Soak in Cold Water

Fill a sink or basin with cold water and add a mild laundry detergent. Do not use hot water as this may cause the stain to set in. Once the water is ready, submerge your apron and let it soak for 30-60 minutes.

Step 2: Treat with Vinegar

After soaking your apron, remove it from the water and place it on a flat surface. Prepare a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water and pour it directly onto the stain. Gently rub the mixture into the fabric to help break down the stain. Let it sit for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Sprinkle Baking Soda

Sprinkle baking soda over the stained area and work it into the fabric with a toothbrush. The baking soda will help absorb any remaining moisture and stain. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: Add Salt

Sprinkle salt over the stained area and rub it in with a toothbrush. The salt will help break down the stain even further. Again, let it sit for 10-15 minutes.

Step 5: Soak in Hydrogen Peroxide

Submerge the apron in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. Let it soak for 15-20 minutes before removing and rinsing with cold water. Repeat this process until the stain has completely disappeared.

Final Thoughts

Cleaning dessert wine stains from your apron doesn't have to be difficult. With the right products and a bit of elbow grease, you can get your apron looking good as new in no time.
