Steps for Cleaning Dessert Wine Stains from Accessories
- Act quickly to remove the stain. Blot the excess liquid using a clean, dry cloth before it has a chance to set in.
- Mix a solution of warm water and a mild detergent or dishwashing liquid. Dip a clean cloth into the solution and dab stained area gently.
- Rinse the area thoroughly with cold water and pat dry with a clean cloth.
- If stain persists, try applying a few drops of diluted white vinegar to the area and then rinse the item again.
- For tough stains, make a paste of borax or baking soda mixed with a small amount of water. Apply the paste to the stained area and leave to dry for a few hours, then rinse off with cold water and pat dry.
- Check for any remaining traces of the stain and repeat the above steps if necessary.
Tips for Removing Dessert Wine Stains from Accessories
- When dealing with delicate fabrics, test cleaning solutions on an area of the item that is not visible, such as the inside of a pocket, to make sure they do not cause any damage.
- If you don’t have any detergent to hand, try using a few drops of rubbing alcohol or vodka on affected area instead.
- Never use hot water when trying to remove a stain as this can cause stain to set further and make it more difficult to remove.
