Using a dull knife, gently scrape off as much excess crayon from the white tie as possible. Be careful not to press too hard and cause the crayon to spread to other areas of the tie.
Gently iron stained area through a damp cloth, to help lift the stain further away from the fabric. Do not put the iron directly onto the fabric as this could damage or discolor the material.
For remaining stains, dampen the area and then apply a small amount of liquid detergent onto the fabric. Gently rub the area in a circular motion with a soft brush for a few seconds. Then rinse off the detergent.
Place white tie in the washing machine and select the ‘delicates’ cycle. Do not wash it with any other item of clothing as this could cause the crayon stain to transfer to other pieces of fabric.
Once the cycle has completed, hang the white tie up to air dry or tumble dry on low heat. Do not use any bleach or fabric softener as this could damage the fabric.
By following these steps, you can easily remove crayon stains from white ties and restore them back to their original condition. With a bit of patience and the right cleaning techniques, you will soon have a fresh looking tie.
