There is nothing worse than taking out your umbrella on a rainy day and discovering that it has been used as an impromptu canvas for a finger-painting session. Crayon usually leaves a waxy residue that can be very difficult to remove. But don't despair, as with most stains, there are steps you can take to get marks off your umbrella.
You will need a few supplies before starting:
Start by using the soft cloth to gently remove as much of the crayon wax as possible. Be sure to move in the same direction as the fabric weave.
Mix a few drops of liquid dish soap and warm water in a bowl. Dip the toothbrush into mixture and gently scrub the area where the crayon stain is located. Use short, circular motions and take care not to damage the material.
Once you have finished scrubbing, rinse the stained area with cold water. If any of the stain remains, you can try blotting the area with white vinegar. Let the vinegar sit on the umbrealla for a few minutes before rinsing again with cold water. Finally, air dry the umbrella or place it flat on a towel to absorb moisture.
Crayon stains may look daunting, but with a few simple steps you can remove them without any hassle. Make sure to gather your supplies before getting started - this will make the process go by much smoother.
