When it comes to clothing, accidents happen - and that’s especially true for younger kids who aren’t as careful with their belongings. But don't worry, cleaning crayon stains off traditional dress is simpler than it may seem! All it takes is a few simple items and you’ll be able to restore fabric into its original condition.
What You’ll Need:
- WD-40
- Cotton balls
- Dish soap
- Toothbrush
- Paper towels
Instructions:
- Take the traditional dress outside and gently brush away any excess debris from soil, dirt and crayon marks.
- Generously spray WD-40 over the stain and let it sit for a couple of minutes.
- Use the toothbrush to scrub away the crayon marks in a circular motion.
- Dip the cotton ball in dish soap and use it to dab away any remaining residue.
- If needed, repeat steps 1-4 until the stain is gone.
- Finally, use paper towels to blot up any additional moisture and let the dress dry.
Additional Tips:
- Be sure to rinse the dress with cold water after using dish soap to prevent discoloration.
- Depending on the fabric, WD-40 may damage fibers. Be sure to test a small section before applying the solution to the entire stain.
- Launder the dress as soon as possible to remove any leftover residue.
