No matter how much you tell your kids not to leave crayon marks all over their toys, chances are they will find a way to get creative and make art on every surface possible. So when it comes to cleaning crayon stains from your kids' toys, the best thing you can do is be prepared. With the right supplies and a few simple steps, it won't take long before you have their beloved playthings looking like new. Here's a guide to help you out with that.

Supplies Needed

  • A non-abrasive cloth or sponge
  • A mild dishwashing soap
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Clean microfiber cloth

Step 1: Generate a Water and Vinegar Solution

Start by filling a bowl with equal amounts warm water and vinegar and stir. The vinegar will help dissolve the crayon marks.

Step 2: Blot the Stain

Take your non-abrasive cloth or sponge and dip it in the water and vinegar solution before lightly blotting the stained area of the toy. Do not scrub the toy too hard as this may cause further damage.

Step 3: Rinse and Wipe

Once you have blotted the toy, rinse it off and then pat it dry with a clean microfiber cloth.

Step 4: Use Dishwashing Soap

If there still are any crayon marks that remain after water and vinegar treatment, use your mild dishwashing soap and a damp cloth to gently rub away the stain.
