What You’ll Need

  • Soap
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cotton swabs
  • Clean cloths

Instructions

  1. Check label. The first step is to make sure you don’t ruin fabric by using a cleaning solution that’s too harsh. Check the label on the garment to see what instructions are provided for laundering.
  2. Spray the stain with a mild liquid soap. If the label does not indicate any special laundering instructions you can spray the stained area of the garment with a mild liquid soap. Let it sit for a few minutes so that the soap will have a chance to work on crayon stain.
  3. Mix white vinegar and baking soda. Mix equal parts white vinegar and baking soda together to create a paste. Apply the paste to the stained area and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes.
  4. Gently rub the area. Use a cotton swab or clean cloth to gently rub the area where paste was applied. This will help lift the crayon stain from the fabric.
  5. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Rinse the area with water and repeat steps 2-4 if necessary to remove the stain completely.
