Good news! Crayon stains can be easily removed from skirts with the help of readily available household items or products. There are several common methods you can use to restore a skirt to its original appearance. Take a look at these easy steps to get rid of the unsightly stain:

Step 1: Blot the Stain Dry

Take a clean, dry cloth and press it firmly against the stained area. Keep pressing until no more crayon wax is transferred onto the cloth.

Step 2: Pre-treat the Stain

You can either pre-treat the stain with an enzyme detergent or a spot cleaner specifically designed for removing crayon stains. Both types of cleaners contain agents that help to break down wax. Make sure to test the cleaner in an inconspicuous spot first before applying to the stain.

Step 3: Apply Cold Water

In case the stain is still visible after pre-treatment, apply some cold water to the area. Cold water helps to break down any remaining wax so it can be removed.

Step 4: Apply Soap and Water Mixture

Mix some liquid dish soap and cold water together to form a lather. Dip a soft bristle brush into the mixture and gently scrub the stained area. Make sure to move the brush in circular motions to ensure that the wax is being removed. Once finished, rinse fabric with cold water.

Step 5: Use Ammonia Solution

If stain isn’t coming off, try using a solution of one part ammonia and two parts warm water. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and dab it onto the stain. As soon as the stain starts to lift, rinse it with water and dry with a clean cloth.

Step 6: Use Iron and White Towel

If the stain is still visible, apply heat to the stain using an iron on low heat setting. Put a white towel beneath the stained area and press the heated iron against it. Make sure to periodically lift the towel to check if the stain is fading away. Once the stain has been lifted, rinse the fabric with cold water.

Step 7: Launder Skirt

The last step in removing crayon stains is to launder the skirt. Follow the instructions on the tag and use a mild detergent for best results. Hang skirt to dry once done.

These are seven easy steps you can follow to remove stubborn crayon stains from a skirt. It may take one or more attempts to completely remove the stain, but patience and persistence will eventually pay off.
