Step 1: Scrape Off the Excess Crayon

Start by taking a knife or other pointed object and gently scraping away any excess wax. Be sure not to press too hard to avoid damaging the fabric.

Step 2: Apply Rubbing Alcohol

Soak a clean cloth with rubbing alcohol and dab it onto stain. This should help loosen up wax and make it easier to remove. Make sure you don’t rub too hard, as this can damage the fabric.

Step 3: Blot the Stain with Soap and Water

Mix some mild soap and cold water and dip a clean cloth into mixture. Blot the stain with the cloth, working from the outside in. After the stain is gone, rinse area with cold water.

Step 4: Launder as Usual

Once the stain has been removed, launder the shorts as you normally would. It may be necessary to wash them twice to make sure the stain is completely gone.

Additional Tips

  • For best results, treat stain as soon as possible.
  • Be sure to check the care label on your garment before attempting to clean it.
  • You may want to test a small corner of the fabric to make sure cleaning solution won’t damage the material.
