Take the affected piece of clothing and place it on a flat surface, such as a countertop. Use a cotton cloth to blot away any excess wax from the fabric. Do not scrub or rub the fabric, as this can cause the wax to set in further. Blot from the outside towards the center of the stain.
In a bowl or cup, mix together 1 tablespoon of white vinegar, 1 teaspoon of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Mix until it forms a thick paste.
Take the paste you have just created and spread it over the crayon stain. Rub it into fabric and let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
Once the paste has had time to set into fabric, take a damp cloth and wipe off the paste. This should help to loosen stain and remove some of the crayon residue.
Run the clothing under cold water and gently rub the fabric to remove any remaining residue.
Place shirt on an ironing board. Turn on iron to lowest setting and iron over the stain. This helps to set the stain, and should remove any remaining residue.
Wash the item of clothing as per care instructions. Once finished, hang the clothing up to air dry.
Crayon stains do not have to be permanent. Follow above steps to remove those pesky stains quickly and easily.
