What You’ll Need

  • Shearling cleaner
  • Woolen brush
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Dry cleaner’s solvent
  • Soft white cloth

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Remove as much of the crayon residue as possible. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck up any bits that may remain on the shearling.
  2. Prepare a cleaning solution. For this, mix one part shearling cleaner and two parts warm water. Dip woolen brush into the solution and lightly scrub the stained area.
  3. Once you are done scrubbing, blot the area dry using a soft white cloth.
  4. For more stubborn stains, prepare a paste using equal parts dry cleaner's solvent and warm water. Apply the paste onto the stained area and let it sit for 20 minutes.
  5. Rinse off the paste with cool water while gently scrubbing with the woolen brush. Blot the area dry with the white cloth.
  6. Allow the shearling to air dry before using.
