What You Need

  • White vinegar
  • Laundry detergent
  • Baking soda
  • A toothbrush or clean cloth

Step by Step Guide

  1. Start by blotting the stain as soon as possible using a clean cloth or paper towel. This will absorb any excess wax and reduce the amount of crayon that has to be removed.
  2. Apply a generous coating of white vinegar over the affected area. Let it sit for a few minutes so it can break down the wax.
  3. Mix together a paste of laundry detergent and baking soda. Apply a thick layer over the crayon stain.
  4. Using a toothbrush, scrub the paste into the fabric in a circular motion. This will help loosen and lift the crayon from fibers.
  5. Rinse area thoroughly with cold water. Use a clean cloth to blot the area dry.
  6. For stubborn stains, repeat the process until stain is removed. Once the stain is gone, launder the item as normal.
