Begin by pre-treating the stain on your sarong. Use some gentle detergent to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stained area and let it sit for 20 minutes. This will help to break down the oils in crayon.
Next, put the sarong in the washing machine and wash it on the hottest water temperature setting recommended for item. Make sure to use a gentle detergent. If possible, use a color-safe bleach or oxygenated bleach to help remove any remaining stain. Once the cycle is finished, remove the sarong and check for any lingering stain.
If any stain remains after washing, pour a few drops of rubbing alcohol directly onto the fabric. Gently rub the area with a soft cloth or sponge until the stain is gone. Rinse the sarong after you're done and let air dry or put it in the dryer.
If the stain is still not removed after using rubbing alcohol, put a little detergent back onto the area and repeat steps 2 and 3. It may take several tries, but eventually, you should be able to get rid of the crayon stain.
