Crayon stains can be difficult to remove from any fabric, and raincoats can be especially tricky. But with the right materials and a bit of work, you can have your child’s raincoat looking like new again.
You will need paper towels, white vinegar, a mild detergent or soap, and a few old rags. In addition, it is helpful to have an old toothbrush handy to help scrub away at the stain.
If the crayon stain is still wet, use paper towels to blot up as much of the wax as you can. Do not rub as this can spread the stain. If there is still some wax left, proceed to Step 3.
Using a spray bottle, apply some white vinegar directly to the stain. This will help loosen up the wax and make it easier to remove. Let sit for 15 minutes.
Using the old toothbrush, mix some mild detergent or soap with warm water and scrub the crayon stain. Use the old rags to wipe away any remaining residue. Rinse away the soap and repeat until the stain is gone.
Once the stain is removed, let the raincoat air dry or machine dry on low heat. Make sure the raincoat is completely dry before wearing or storing.
Never do laundry again. Save time for things you ❤️
