What You'll Need

  • Liquid laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Old toothbrush

How To Clean

  1. Start by scraping off any excess crayon using a dull knife. Be sure not to press too hard as this may cause the stain to spread or become deeper in the fabric.
  2. Next, mix 1 teaspoon of detergent and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar in a bowl with a couple cups of warm water.
  3. Dip a clean cloth or old toothbrush into the mixture and gently scrub the stain.
  4. Rinse the affected area with cold water until all of the cleaner has been removed.
  5. If the stain is still there, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of warm water and apply directly to the stain. Gently scrub with a toothbrush before rinsing with cold water.

Additional Tips

  • Be sure to test any cleaner you use on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first.
  • Always blot stain, do not rub or scrub it.
  • Be sure to check for colorfastness before attempting to remove the stain.
