Step 1: Scrape the Excess Crayon with a Dull Knife

First, carefully use a dull knife to scrape off the excess crayon from your Onitsuka Tigers. Be sure to scrape gently so that you don’t damage the material.

Step 2: Treat the Stain with Microfiber Cloth and Rubbing Alcohol

Create a solution of equal parts of rubbing alcohol and water, then soak a microfiber cloth in it. Use the cloth to rub the stained area until crayon starts to break down. Keep rubbing until the stain has been removed completely.

Step 3: Wash The Shoes In Warm Soapy Water and Air Dry

Gently scrub affected area with warm soapy water to clean away any remnants of crayon and rubbing alcohol residue. Rinse the shoes in cold water and make sure to completely air dry them before re-wearing.

Hints and Tips for Cleaning Crayon off Onitsuka Tigers

  • Using a small amount of hairspray on the crayon stains can also help loosen and remove the stubborn spots.
  • Be sure to test any commercial cleaning products on a small patch of fabric near the crayon stain before applying it liberally to the entire area.
  • If the above steps do not remove the stains completely, take the shoes to a professional shoe cleaner for a deeper clean.
