Materials You'll Need

  • Clean white cloth
  • Mild soap
  • Soft brush
  • Toothbrush
  • Stain remover

Step 1: Gently Remove Excess Wax

The first step is to remove as much of the excess crayon wax as possible. To do so, use a clean white cloth and gently brush away with a circular motion. Do not press too hard or rub too aggressively as this could damage the material of the shoe.

Step 2: Use Mild Soap

Dampen the cloth in warm water with a mild soap and dab some onto the area. Do not scrub the area, as this could spread the stain. Instead, gently pat the area with the cloth, and continue to do so until the stain is barely visible.

Step 3: Buff With a Soft Brush

Take a soft brush and gently brush against any remaining crayon with a light pressure. Move in a circular motion to ensure that no stain is left behind. If the stain is still there, move onto the next step.

Step 4: Use a Toothbrush

Mix a bit of mild soap with warm water and use a toothbrush to scrub the stain out of the fabric. Be sure to scrub lightly and avoid being too rough. Continue to scrub until stain disappears.

Step 5: Use Stain Remover

If all else fails, apply some stain remover onto the affected area and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, use a damp cloth to wipe off the stain remover and any remaining crayon. Finally, allow the shoe to air dry and you should be good to go!
