No one wants to have clothing stained with crayon, especially when it’s expensive Nautica. But don’t panic, there are some effective ways to get rid of those stubborn crayon stains without having to buy a new outfit.

When you discover a crayon stain on Nautica, it’s important to act quickly. If it’s a fresh stain, use a dull knife or spoon to scrape away as much of the wax as possible, taking care not to damage the fabric. Then pretreat stain with an enzyme-based laundry detergent, like Tide. Work it into the fabric with your hands and let it sit for 15 minutes.
Next, put garment in the washing machine and wash it with hot water and the same enzyme-based detergent. If the crayon mark doesn't come out, try using a color safe bleach, which contains oxygenated bleach that will help break down stain without fading the color of the fabric. After laundering, inspect the garment carefully to make sure all the crayon has been removed.
If the crayon stain is persistent or set-in, you may need to use a solvent-based cleaner such as rubbing alcohol or dry-cleaning solvent. Pretreat stain with the solvent and then launder according to the care instructions. If the stain persists, you may need to repeat the process or take the item to a professional dry cleaner.
