Things You Will Need

  • White cloth or sponge
  • Bucket of warm water
  • Trusty bar of soap or laundry detergent
  • Stiff brush

Step #1: Blot the Stain With a Wet Sponge

Gently blot at the stain with a wet white cloth or sponge. This should help to lift some of the crayon out of mesh fabric. Do not scrub too hard or vigorously, as this could cause damage to the mesh fabric.

Step #2: Soak Mesh in Warm Water

Once you have blotted the stain as best you can, fill a bucket with warm water and place the stained mesh inside. Let mesh soak for at least 30 minutes.

Step #3: Apply the Soap or Laundry Detergent

When mesh has finished soaking, apply a generous amount of soap or laundry detergent to the stained area. Use a stiff brush to scrub the soapy solution into the fabric to break up the crayon wax.

Step #4: Rinse and Dry

Once you have worked the soapy solution into the mesh fabric, rinse it off under warm running water. Shake or pat the fabric dry, then hang it up in a well-ventilated area to air dry.
