What You'll Need

  • A soft cloth (or paper towels, if necessary)
  • An enzyme-based laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • A vacuum cleaner (optional)

Removing Crayon from Leather

  1. Blot stain with the cloth or paper towels to lift and remove as much of the crayon as possible.
  2. Mix 1 tablespoon of laundry detergent with 1 cup of warm water and stir until frothy.
  3. Dip the cloth into the mixture and blot the area, working from the outside edge to the center to avoid spreading the stain.
  4. Mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 1 part water, and pour onto another cloth. Blot the area again, working from outer edges in.
  5. Sprinkle baking soda over stained area and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Vacuum up baking soda, if needed, or brush it away with the soft cloth.
  6. Repeat the laundry detergent/water and vinegar/water steps until stain is gone.
