What You'll Need

  • Laundry soap
  • Chlorine bleach OR white vinegar
  • Bucket with warm water
  • Soft-bristle brush (optional)

Step 1: Remove Excess Crayon

Using a stiff piece of paper or cloth, try to scrape off any solid bits of crayon from the lace fabric. Don't rub the fabric too hard, however, as this can actually cause more damage to the fabric.

Step 2: Soak the Stain

Mix one teaspoon of laundry soap or dishwashing liquid with one quart of warm water. Submerge the stained area of the lace fabric into mixture and let it soak for at least 30 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse and Repeat

Remove the fabric from the mixture and rinse it thoroughly with cool water. If the stain is still present, repeat steps 2 and 3 until stain disappears.

Step 4: Bleach or White Vinegar

If the stain still hasn't come out, prepare a mixture of half a cup of chlorine bleach or white vinegar with one quart of warm water. Soak the stained portion of the fabric for 30 minutes and then rinse it off thoroughly.

Step 5: Brush Away Any Remaining Stains

Using a soft-bristle brush, gently brush away any remaining bits of crayon from the lace fabric. Be sure to press lightly, as you don't want to damage the delicate fabric.

Step 6: Air Dry

Once the crayon stain is gone, hang lace fabric up to dry. Do not put it in the dryer, as this can cause damage to lace fabric.
