One of best ways to remove crayon stains from non-metallic kitchen utensils is by using rubbing alcohol. Begin by pouring some rubbing alcohol onto a soft cloth and getting the cloth damp. Then, rub down the stained area until you start to see the crayon stains fading away. If necessary, use a toothbrush or another soft scrubbing tool to help remove stubborn marks.
If the kitchen utensil is made from metal, such as silverware or pots and pans, then soap and water will usually be enough to clean off crayon stains. Begin by rubbing down the stained area with a soapy sponge or cloth. Be sure to rinse the utensil afterward with either cold or warm water. Depending on type of metal, you may need to also use a degreasing agent, such as dishwashing liquid or baking soda.
If the above methods do not seem to be very effective, then you may need to use harsher cleaning tools, such as scouring pads or pumice stones. Gently rub the stained area with the scouring pad or pumice stone in a circular motion until you can no longer see any trace of crayon stain. As with the first two methods, be sure to thoroughly rinse the utensil afterward with cold or warm water.
Another option is to try using WD-40 on the crayon stains. Simply spray the WD-40 onto stained area and leave it for a few minutes. Then, take a cloth or sponge and rub down the area. The crayon should begin to come loose and can be easily washed away. Afterward, be sure to rinse the utensil thoroughly with water.
Crayon stains may seem like a daunting task to remove from kitchen utensils, but with the right tools and techniques, it can be done quickly and with minimal effort. From using rubbing alcohol to using WD-40, there are several different options to choose from when cleaning up crayon marks. So, the next time you have crayon stains on your kitchen utensils, you'll know just what to do.
