Jacquard is a type of fabric that has a unique pattern woven into it, making it a beautiful fabric for clothing, bedding, or any number of projects. Unfortunately, this same texture can also make it difficult to clean—especially when it comes to crayon stains. But don’t give up! You can still get your Jacquard looking like new with these simple tips.

How to Remove Crayon Stains from Jacquard

  • First, try blotting the stain with a cloth dampened in lukewarm water. Blotting helps to remove the stain without spreading it.
  • If that doesn’t work, you can try using a dry cleaning solvent. Test the solvent on an inconspicuous area before using it on the stain, and always follow directions on the bottle.
  • Once majority of stain is removed, you can use a solution of warm water and liquid detergent to finish the job. Soak the area in the solution for 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water and blot with a clean cloth.

Once the stain is gone, allow the fabric to air-dry completely before putting it back into use.

Tips for Preventing Crayon Stains on Jacquard

  • Don’t let children play with crayons near the fabric.
  • If you must let children draw on Jacquard fabric, protect it by covering it with a large sheet of paper first.
  • If you find crayon marks on the fabric, act quickly by wiping them away with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Treat the fabric with a stain repellant before use.

With these easy tips, you can keep your Jacquard fabric looking beautiful for years to come.
