Crayon stains can be a frustrating problem on fabric, and hats can be more difficult since it's often harder to get the cleaner directly onto the stain. But there's hope! Here are a few steps to help you tackle crayon stains on hats:
Start by freezing hat with the crayon mark. Place hat in a plastic bag and place it in the freezer for a few hours. This will help harden the crayon, making it easier to gently scrape or brush away.
Use a mild detergent or a specially formulated stain remover to spot clean the area. Be sure to test a small, inconspicuous area first to make sure the cleaning agent won't damage the fabric.
Using a soft brush or an old toothbrush, gently scrub the area with the cleaning solution. Don't scrub too hard, as this could cause the fabric to tear. If possible, work from the outside of the stain inward as this can help prevent the stain from spreading.
Rinse hat thoroughly with cool water to remove all traces of the cleaning solution and crayon. Use a clean cloth to softly blot the area dry.
To finish up, launder the hat using a regular washing cycle. Air drying is best, as a tumble dryer can set the stain.
By following these simple steps, you can easily remove crayon stains from hats. It may take a few tries, but with a bit of patience, you can restore the fabric to its original glory.
