Crayon stains on hair ties happen all too often, especially when kids get hold of them. While some may be tempted to throw the hair ties away, there’s no need to despair. With the right cleaning technique, you can make those crayon stains a thing of the past.

What You Need

  • A bowl
  • Warm water
  • Mild liquid laundry detergent
  • Toothbrush
  • Fabric blotter

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Fill bowl with warm water and add a few drops of mild laundry detergent.
  2. Submerge hair ties in the soapy solution and let them soak for 10 minutes.
  3. Use an old toothbrush to scrub the stains gently. Try not to agitate them too much.
  4. Rinse the hair ties under cold water running from the tap.
  5. Dab the excess water from the hair ties with a fabric blotter.
  6. Hang the hair ties in a well-ventilated area and let them air dry.

Your hair ties should now be as good as new! If you’re still not satisfied with results, repeat the steps until all the crayon stains have been removed.
