Get Rid of Crayon Stains From Your Down Jacket With These Easy Steps

What You'll Need:

  • White vinegar
  • Sponge
  • A mild detergent, such as Woolite or Dawn
  • Warm water
  • Towel

Steps:

  1. Mix one part white vinegar with five parts warm water in a small bowl or bucket.
  2. Soak the affected area of down jacket in the mixture for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Using a sponge or soft towel, gently blot the stained area.
  4. Rinse stained area with warm water.
  5. Apply a small amount of mild detergent (Woolite or Dawn) directly to the stain.
  6. Rub the detergent into the stain in a circular motion.
  7. Let the detergent sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Rinse detergent off the down jacket using warm water.
  9. Blot the area with a clean towel to absorb any excess moisture.
  10. Allow down jacket to air dry completely.

Tips:

  • Do not use hot water when cleaning down jackets as it can damage the fabric.
  • Do not put the jacket in the dryer until you are sure the stain has been completely removed.
  • If the stain persists, repeat steps 1-9.
