It's inevitable that eventually someone will color outside the lines. While it might be frustrating to deal with crayon stains on clothing, fortunately there is a way to remove them—with a few simple steps.
First, your best bet for removing crayon from a cotton crop top is to use an iron on low heat settings and press the stained area. This will usually cause the crayon to come off until just traces of stain remain.
Next, take a white cloth and apply a small amount of dishwashing liquid or laundry detergent to the cloth. Gently rub the cloth on remaining stain and rinse the fabric with cold water. The best way to do this without damaging the fabric is to dab cloth in a circular motion over the stain.
Once you have cleaned the stained area, it is important to make sure that you thoroughly rinse out all of the soap and water from fabric. This can be done by submerging the clothing in cold water and swishing it around a few times or by using a gentle spray bottle.
Finally, take a clean white cloth and lay it flat under the stain. Then, use an iron on low heat to press the stained area while keeping the clean cloth between the iron and the clothing. This will help to absorb any remaining crayon residue and help to restore the fabric to its original look.
With a bit of time and the right supplies, you can clean crayon stains from your favorite cotton crop top and get it looking brand new!
