What You'll Need
- White vinegar
- Liquid dishwashing soap
- Bucket of warm water
- Old rags
- Heavy duty laundry detergent
- Cleaning cloth
- Oxygen bleaching powder (optional)
Instructions
- As soon as possible after spotting the stain, use an old rag to dab wet spots with white vinegar. This will prevent the stain from setting into the fabric.
- Mix one teaspoon of liquid dishwashing soap and one teaspoon of white vinegar into a bucket of warm water. Dip a cloth into the mixture and use it to scrub the stained area in a circular motion. Rinse off the cleaning solution with clean water.
- If any stains remain, create a mixture of a cup of heavy duty laundry detergent and one gallon of warm water. Dip a cloth into the mixture and rub it onto the stained area using a circular motion. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse off with clean water. If the stain is still not removed, consider using an oxygen bleach powder.
Tips & Warnings
- Always test cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area first.
- Do not use bleach or products containing chlorine as this may damage the fabric.
- Be sure to read the fabric care label before cleaning.
