Materials Needed

  • Soft cloth
  • Dish soap
  • Water
  • White or clear vinegar

Step 1: Blot the Stain Gently

Very gently unsettle stain by blotting it with a soft cloth. DO NOT rub the stain; rubbing may spread crayon further. Rather, dab the cloth in a single spot and apply gentle pressure to break up the stains.

Step 2: Dilute Dish Soap

In a bowl, add one part dish soap to four parts warm water. Stir the mixture until it is sudsy and all the ingredients have been incorporated.

Step 3: Use the Mixture to Spot Clean

Place the cloth in mixture and wring out excess liquid. Blot the stained area with the cloth, avoiding rubbing the material. Once you have blotted stain, replace the cloth with a dry cloth and repeat the process until the crayon is removed.

Step 4: Finish with the Vinegar

Once the crayon has been removed, create a new mixture of equal parts white or clear vinegar and warm water. Take a clean cloth and dip it in the mixture. Blot previously stained area with cloth and allow it to dry.

Step 5: Let the Coach Item Air Dry Before Using

Let your Coach bag completely air dry before using or storing it again. This last step ensures that the vinegar smell dissipates and that all the liquid is gone.

Conclusion

Accidentally ruining your favorite Coach item with crayon can be disheartening. But with the steps provided above, you can easily remove crayon marks without damaging leather.
