What You Need:
- Liquid dish detergent or laundry detergent
- Spray bottle
- White cloth
- Sponge
- White vinegar
- Water
Steps for Removing Crayon Stains from Chiffon Fabric
- Apply liquid dish detergent or laundry detergent directly to the stain and use a Sponge to work it in.
- Leave for 5 minutes or so.
- Wipe away any excess soap with a clean, damp cloth.
- If there is still some residue, fill a spray bottle with equal parts vinegar and water and mist it onto the garment.
- Use a clean sponge to remove the remaining stain.
- Machine wash as normal.
Tips
- Always pretest detergents and other cleaning agents on an inconspicuous area of the garment before using on the stain. This will confirm that the fabric won’t be damaged by the cleaning solution.
- To make sure the stain doesn’t set, work quickly and don’t let the crayon or the cleaning solution sit for too long on the fabric.
- When using a spray bottle, test it out on a small area before applying it to the entire stain to make sure it isn’t too strong and won’t damage the fabric.
