Charmeuse is a luxurious, lightweight fabric that many people use for clothing, scarves, and bedding. Unfortunately, this lovely fabric isn’t immune to crayon stains! Fortunately, with the right method, it’s easy to remove crayon marks from charmeuse items.

Step One: Scrape Gently

Start by taking a butter knife (or another dull object) and gently scraping away excess crayon wax. Make sure not to press too hard, as this could damage the fabric.

Step Two: Blot the Stain with Rubbing Alcohol

Blot the stain with a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol. Do not rub the fabric, as this could destroy its texture. You can also try using hairspray, nail polish remover, or mineral spirits.

Step Three: Rinse the Area with Cold Water

Rinse the stained area with cold water and blot dry with a clean cloth. Don’t use hot water or you risk setting the stain.

Step Four: Pretreat with a Spot Cleaner

Next, pretreat the stain with a spot cleaner. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes before laundering. If the stain doesn’t come out, repeat the entire process.

Step Five: Launder as Normal

Finally, launder the item as normal. Allow it to air dry and inspect it for any remaining stains. If the stain is still visible, repeat the entire process until the stain is gone.

With the right cleaning method, it’s easy to remove crayon marks from charmeuse fabric! Just remember to act quickly and use gentle products and techniques to avoid damaging your precious fabrics.
