Gathering the Supplies
Prior to embarking on this mission of crayon stain removal, these supplies must be acquired for optimal results:
- White vinegar
- Water
- Liquid detergent
- Soft cloth/towel
Application Process
- Mix two parts white vinegar and one part water in a bowl.
- Dip the cloth in the solution and dab the affected area.
- Allow the fabric to sit for 10-15 minutes.
- Rinse area with cold water.
- Create a mixture of 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent and 2 cups of warm water.
- Dip the cloth in the detergent solution and dab the stained area.
- Allow for the solution to sit for 15 minutes.
- Rinse the fabric thoroughly with water.
- Soak fabric in cold water for 15 minutes.
- Take the fabric out and allow it to air dry.
Additional Tips
- It is important to use cold water and never hot or warm water when rinsing out crayon stains.
- Do not put suit in a washing machine or dryer before attempting the above steps. This may cause stain to set further into the fabric.
- If the stain persists, try adding some rubbing alcohol to the vinegar and water solution.
