The first step in removing crayon stains is to physically remove as much of the wax as you can. Take a butter knife or spoon to gently scrape away as much of the stain as you can. Be gentle and take care not to damage fabric.
Once you have removed as much of the crayon as possible, use a soft cloth to apply some liquid dish soap. You can also substitute liquid detergent. Rub the soft cloth over affected area to work the liquid into the fabric.
Rinse the area with cool water to remove any excess soapy residue. If any of the stain is still present, repeat the process. You may need to repeat multiple times before stain is completely gone.
Once crayon is completely removed, allow the fabric to air dry or use a hairdryer on low heat. High heat from an iron or hairdryer may cause the crayon to set into the fabric, so it's best to be careful and keep heat setting low.
