Crayon stains mixed with fabric can be tricky. The trick is to use a combination of cold water and gentle solvents to slowly dissolve wax without damaging the fabric. Here’s how:
- Start by scraping off as much of the wax as possible with a dull knife or spoon. Make sure not to scrub or press too hard.
- Using a clean cloth dab stain with a mixture of cold water and a small amount of liquid laundry detergent. Only use a very small amount of detergent as it could damage the fabric.
- Continue to blot the stain with the damp cloth until all color is gone.
- If stain still remains, use an aerosol hairspray to lightly mist the area. Allow hairspray to sit for about ten minutes before continuing.
- Blot hairspray away with a dry cloth and if needed, repeat the process.
- Once satisfied with your progress, rinse the garment with cold water.
- Allow the garment to air dry. Do not use a hair dryer or try and speed up the drying process.
- Finally, check garment for any remaining residue. If you find any, repeat the above steps until the stain is completely removed.
With the right supplies and techniques, you can make even most stubborn crayon stain vanish from your Armani. Now all you have to worry about is keeping your clothes crayon-free in the first place.
