Crayons can easily stain fabric due to the waxy and oily substances in the pigment of the crayon. But with the right supplies and technique, you can successfully get rid of crayon stains from your apron. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Place the stained area of apron into the sink or bath tub, using a cloth or paper towel to protect the area around the stain from getting wet.
  • Mix together equal parts of hot water and rubbing alcohol, or use a commercial pre-made stain remover.
  • Using a soft-bristled brush, lightly scrub the stained area with the solution. Work solution into the fabric, taking care not to scrub too hard and damage the fabric.
  • Rinse the stained area with cold water until the solution is removed.
  • Finally, wash the apron in warm water on highest setting you can use based on the material of the fabric.

By following these easy steps, your apron should be looking as good as new in no time. If the stain persists, however, you may want to take it to the dry cleaners for a professional deep clean.
