Crayon stains can be incredibly difficult to remove, especially when they find their way onto your appliances. The good news is that you don’t have to live with their artwork forever – all you need is a few easy-to-find supplies and some elbow grease.
The first step in removing crayon stains from your appliances is applying white vinegar. Start by dampening a soft cloth with the vinegar and blotting stain. If stain does not come off after a few attempts, try pouring vinegar directly onto stain, but avoid getting the liquid onto any surrounding finishes.
Once the vinegar has had time to penetrate stain, create a paste with baking soda and water and apply it to stained area. Allow it to sit for several minutes before scrubbing with a toothbrush. Rinse with lukewarm water and dry with a soft, clean cloth.
For any stubborn spots, you can use lemon juice. Soak a cloth in the juice and dab it on the stain. The citric acid should break down the crayon and you can then wash the area with dish soap. Don’t forget to rinse and dry afterwards.
