If the stain is still wet, use a soft cloth to blot up as much of the liquid as possible. Scrubbing or brushing the fabric could cause the stain to set in further, so be sure to blot gently.
Mix a small amount of shampoo with some lukewarm water and apply the solution to stain using a clean toothbrush. Allow the solution to sit for several minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. This should loosen the stain considerably, making it easier to remove.
Run cold water over the stain and lather a mild laundry detergent directly onto the fabric. Allow it to soak for several minutes before rinsing off the sudsy mixture with cool water.
Fill a sink with equal parts white vinegar and lukewarm water. Place the stained clothing item into the solution and leave it to soak for 1-2 hours. Remove garment from the soak and rinse it off with fresh, cool water.
Rather than machine drying fabric, allow the garment to air dry. Heat from the dryer could cause the stain to set in permanently, so skip this step when dealing with stubborn stains.
