The first step to getting rid of stains is to gather the necessary materials. You'll need dish soap, white vinegar, a sponge, cool water, and a few paper towels. Make sure the materials you use are gentle enough not to damage the wool fabric.
Using the sponge, apply a generous amount of dish soap directly onto the stain, being careful not to rub too hard. Let the soap sit on the stain for a few minutes.
Once the soap has had some time to penetrate the stain, rinse it off with cool water. Make sure the water is not too hot, as this could cause the stain to spread.
Take a few paper towels and begin to blot the area until all the liquid has been absorbed. Be sure to avoid rubbing the stained fabric, as this may cause the stain to spread.
Next, apply a small amount of white vinegar to stain and let it sit for a few minutes. This will help break up the stain and make it easier to remove.
Rinse the area again with cool water, making sure to remove all traces of vinegar. Then blot area with a paper towel to absorb any excess moisture.
Finally, wash the fabric in cold water according to the manufacturer's directions. Once the fabric has been washed, hang dry it and inspect the area for any remaining stains.
Removing coffee and tea stains from wool can be a bit tricky, but with the right process and materials, it doesn't have to be. Follow the steps above and you'll be able to keep your wool fabrics free of stains!
