3 Steps to Erase Coffee & Tea Stains from White Clothes
If you've ever spilled coffee or tea on your clothes, you know how hard it can be to erase the stubborn stains. Here are three methods, based on fabric type, to remove coffee and tea stains from white clothes.

Method 1 - Cotton & Polyester Blends
- Mix one tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of cold water.
- Using a white cloth, blot stain with the detergent-water combination until the stain disappears.
- Rinse the area with cold water and allow the garment to air dry.
Method 2 - Silk & Wool
- Mix equal parts of vinegar and cold water.
- Treat the stained area with a sponge and the vinegar-water mixture. Gently blot until the stain is removed.
- Allow the fabric to air dry before wearing.
Method 3 - Synthetics
- Mix one tablespoon of ammonia with half a cup of lukewarm water.
- Test solution on an inconspicuous area of the garment to make sure it won't fade the color.
- Soak the stained area in the ammonia-water mixture for 15 minutes. Blot the area with a white cloth.
- Rinse with cold water, followed by a light detergent solution. Air dry.
