What is Voile Fabric?
Voile is a lightweight, semi-sheer fabric made of cotton, silk, or polyester that’s often used for curtains, blouses, and dresses. It has a soft, smooth feel with a beautiful drape.
Removing Coffee and Tea Stains From Voile
Coffee and tea stains can be difficult to clean, especially from delicate fabrics like voile. The trick is to act quickly and use right cleaning methods:
- Mix a solution of lukewarm water and mild detergent. Do not use bleach.
- Apply the detergent solution to stained area and gently massage it into fabric with your fingers.
- Rinse the area with lukewarm water.
- If stain persists, mix a paste out of baking soda and water. Apply the paste to the stain and allow it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.
- Repeat until the stain is gone.
- Allow the voile to air dry.
Additional Tips
- Never machine wash voile without consulting the care instructions first.
- It’s always best to spot clean voile whenever possible.
- Be sure to test any cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area first to make sure color won’t fade or bleed.
