What You Need

  • Baking soda
  • Sponge
  • White vinegar or lemon juice
  • Toothbrush
  • Clean cloth

Step 1: Blot the Stain

First, use a clean cloth to blot the stain vigorously. Don't rub it - you want to pat the stain gently so that it won't spread.

Step 2: Make a Baking Soda Paste

Mix equal parts of baking soda and water making sure the paste isn't too thin. Apply paste on the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Brush Gently

Use a toothbrush to brush the paste off the sweater. Dip the toothbrush in some lukewarm water then brush the paste out in a circular motion.

Step 4: Rinse the Stain

Take some white vinegar or lemon juice and mix it with warm water. Dip the sponge in the solution and use it to rinse the stained area. Let it air dry.
