When you notice a coffee or tea stain on your silk faille, it's important to act quickly. Start by blotting the affected area with a soft cloth or paper towel. Gently press down and pat the fabric, moving outward from the stain. You don't want to rub or scrub too hard – this could cause the fabric fibers to become damaged or break apart. Once you've blotted as much of the liquid as possible, you can move on to the next step.
Mix a few drops of mild detergent with lukewarm water to make a solution. Dip a clean cloth into the mixture and press it against the stained area. Don't rub or scrub – just press the cloth gently against the fabric so the liquid can begin to break up the stain. Allow the solution to sit for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Once you've rinsed off detergent solution, fill a sink or basin with cold water. Place fabric in the water and swish it around gently. Let the material soak for 10-15 minutes, then drain the water and rinse the fabric with cold water. Repeat this process as needed until you've removed as much of stain as possible.
After washing your silk faille, it's important to dry the fabric carefully. The best way to do this is to lay the material flat on a towel and allow it to air-dry. Don't wring the fabric, as this can cause it to stretch and lose shape. Once material is dry, you'll be able to enjoy the stain-free beauty of your silk faille.
