Eliminate Coffee and Tea Stains From Silk Dupioni Easily

What You'll Need
- Dish detergent
- Stain remover
- Borax detergent
- White vinegar
- Water
- Soft cloth
Step-by-Step Cleaning Process
- Mix 1/2 teaspoon of dish detergent with 1 cup of warm water.
- Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the mixture and gently blot the affected area.
- Rinse the affected area with cool water after cleaning.
- If the stain is still not gone, moisten area with a solution of 1 tablespoon of borax detergent (available at most grocery stores) and 1 cup of warm water and let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Gently blott the area with a damp sponge and rinse with cold water.
- If the stain still persists, make a solution of one part white vinegar to two parts water and apply it to the affected area with a clean cloth. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Gently blot the area with a damp cloth or sponge and rinse with cold water.
- Air dry the silk item.
Tips
- Before cleaning any stain, always test the cleaning solution on an inconspicuous spot of the fabric to make sure it won't bleach or discolor it.
- Always use cool or room temperature water when washing silk.
- Do not use harsh abrasives or scrubbing brushes on fabric.
- Do not dry the item in direct sunlight.
