Before you begin, make sure you have all of the necessary supplies. This includes:
Test a small area of the lace with the detergent and white vinegar before proceeding. If no discolouration occurs, you can move on to the next step.
Now it's time to tackle the stain. Start by dabbing the area gently with a soft cloth soaked in a solution of warm water and a bit of detergent. Avoid rubbing in circles, as this will cause the fabric to charm and snag.
If the stain persists, mix together equal parts white vinegar and warm water in a bowl. Soak a soft cloth in the solution and press it into the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes; then, lightly dab the area until stain lifts. Rinse the fabric with cool water, and blot with a clean towel to remove any excess moisture.
Once stain has been removed, lay the fabric flat on a towel and air dry. Avoid using a dryer or ironing the fabric, as this can cause further damage.
To avoid future staining, be sure to treat your Rosepoint lace with a stain repellent or a fabric protector before use. This will create an invisible barrier that will help to prevent spills and other accidents.
