It’s important to have the right products to tackle stain, so make sure you have salt, detergent, a liquid laundry pre-treatment, white vinegar, a few clean white cloths and a toothbrush.
Start by working some liquid laundry pre-treatment into the stained area with a soft brush, then let it sit for 15 minutes. This helps to break down the proteins in the tea or coffee stain.
Rinse the stained fabric with cold water to flush out some of remaining stain. Make sure water is cold, as hot water can set stain.
In a small bowl, combine one teaspoon of detergent with one tablespoon of white vinegar and one teaspoon of salt. Mix them together until you get a paste-like consistency.
Take a clean white cloth and lightly dab the paste onto the stain. Then, carefully scrub the area with a soft brush. If the stain is really tough, you can add a bit of rubbing alcohol to the paste.
Rinse stained area again with cold water, and repeat the steps until the stain has disappeared.
