The easiest way to remove coffee and tea stains is by machine washing your poncho. Before popping it into wash, make sure to check the garment label for specific instructions. Be sure to select a gentle and cool cycle as well as a mild detergent.
If your poncho can't be machine washed, you'll need to use a stain remover to tackle the coffee and tea. Start off by blotting the stained area with a clean rag or paper towel to soak up as much liquid as possible. Then, apply a stain remover to affected area and let it sit for 10 minutes. After that, rinse the fabric with cold water and repeat the process until the stain is gone.
If you don't have a stain remover on hand, you can try using a vinegar solution. Start by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water. Then, dip a cloth into the solution and apply it to the stained area. Let it sit for about 10 minutes before rinsing the cloth and reapplying the mixture. You may need to do this a few times for tough stains.
A baking soda paste is also a great option for removing coffee and tea stains. First, combine three parts baking soda with one part water to create a thick paste. Then, apply the paste directly to the stain and let it sit for 10 minutes. After that, rinse the fabric with cold water and repeat the process until the stain is gone.
