Materials You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Small bowl or cup
  • Soft cloth
  • Mild laundry detergent

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Using a paper towel or soft cloth, begin blotting stain. This will help absorb the remaining liquid without pushing the stain further into the fabric. Be sure not to rub the fabric as this may cause the stain to spread.

Step 2: Mix a Solution

Combine one tablespoon of dish soap with two cups of warm water in a small bowl or cup. Mix the solution until the soap is completely dissolved.

Step 3: Apply the Solution

Using a soft cloth, apply solution to stain. Continue to dab the solution onto the stain until it begins to lift. Once stain begins to lighten, move on to the next step.

Step 4: Add Baking Soda

Sprinkle baking soda directly onto stain. Allow the baking soda to sit for a few minutes before lightly scrubbing the stain in a circular motion. Once stain is removed, rinse the fabric with warm water.

Step 5: Use Vinegar

Mix one tablespoon of white vinegar with one cup of warm water. Dip a soft cloth into the mixture and gently dab the stain. Gently scrub in a circular motion and continue until the stain has been removed. Rinse the fabric with cool water and allow it to air dry.

Bonus Step: Wash with Detergent

Once the stain has been removed, it's time to wash fabric. Fill washing machine with warm water and add a small amount of mild laundry detergent. Place the fabric into washer and allow it to run through a full cycle. Hang the fabric to dry and enjoy!
