Step 1: Soak the Stain

You want to start by soaking stained area in a mixture of warm water and one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent. Depending on the size of the stain, you will want to let the garment soak for between 10 to 30 minutes. This will help loosen up the stain, making it easier to remove.

Step 2: Treat the Stain

Once you have finished soaking the garment, add a capful of white vinegar to a cup of warm water and mix in one tablespoon of Borax. Dip a soft cloth into the liquid and gently rub the stained spot. Make sure not to rub too hard as this could damage the fabric. You should do this for around 5 minutes.

Step 3: Wash and Dry

Finally, wash the garment as normal, using the appropriate temperature for the fabric. You should also check the label of the polo shirt for any special instructions. When the cycle is complete, check to make sure the stain has gone before drying. If it has, then you can machine dry as normal.
